Simon Lüchinger has been a professor of economics at the University of Lucerne since 2010, first an assistant professor and since 2014 a full professor. His research interests are in the fields of political economics and environmental economics. In the field of political economics, his research investigates the personnel connections between the private and public sectors and the effects of political institutions. In the field of environmental economics, his research examines the social costs of pollution and the effectiveness of environmental policies.
