Antonio Spilimbergo

Antonio Spilimbergo is Deputy Director of the Research Department at the International Monetary Fund, where he has worked since 1997. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1994) and an undergraduate degree from Bocconi University. Before joining the IMF, he worked as an Economist at the Inter-American Development Bank. He is a Research Fellow of CEPR. His research interests include international trade, labour economics, political economy, and macroeconomics, and has been published in journals including the American Economic Review, the Review of Economic Studies, and the Journal of International Economics.
