Nicolás E. Magud is a Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund, where he works in the Western Hemisphere Regional Economic Studies division. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland at College Park. Prior to joining the IMF, he was an Assistant Professor of International Finance at the University of Oregon. His research interests include macroeconomics, fiscal policy, exchange rates, capital flows, and international trade.
