Barry Eichengreen

Barry Eichengreen is the George C. Pardee and Helen N. Pardee Professor of Economics and Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. He holds an AB from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an MA, MPhil and PhD in Economics, along with an MA in History, from Yale University. His research focuses on the history and current operation of the international monetary and financial system; his most recent book is Money Beyond Borders: Global Currencies from Croesus to Crypto (Princeton University Press, 2026).
